“The joy of dressing is an art.” – John Galliano

Zero-waste Jacket

This jacket/dress was designed to use 100% of material. With this design the fabric was able to be cut in long rectangular pieces directly off of the bolt. Because the material was cut in strips I had to give it back it's shape, to do this I was inspired by the Japanese art of paper folding- origami.

Using an iron I pressed the fabric into an origami style just like you would do paper. To keep it's shape I had to sew each seam along the fold.
